Why doesn't your software talk to each other?
Software has become all-encompassing in our daily work life. And yet, sometimes we would rather pull our hair out than deal with all the different systems. We wonder why they just don’t talk to each other and why these APIs we heard so much about aren’t solving this problem.
APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) are the languages of modern software applications. However, just like there are many languages, there are many types of APIs: REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, SDK and more. Even within these standards there is varying quality and implementation styles as well as gaps in functionality that require creative workarounds. Custom system integrations projects are required for your systems to talk to each other.
Our senior engineers have extensive experience building custom software using all sorts of APIs. With knowledge of the business purposes behind each API call, our team builds integrations that meet real business needs.
System Integrations - Built by Emergent Software
Check out some system integration projects that we’ve developed at Emergent Software:
B2B Ecommerce, Okta & Salesforce Integration
Business Impact Group (BIG), a leading branded apparel, merchandise, and printed materials company in Minnesota, partnered with Emergent Software to develop custom integration software for a large agricultural services company. The integration needed to seamlessly connect their customized B2B ecommerce platform built on Four51 Storefront with Okta for single-sign-on (SSO) and Salesforce for custom workflow and reporting.
The nature of the integration and strict security requirements meant the software architecture required approval from the client’s internal security team, the source code was subjected to VeraCode static code analysis, and an external team was brought in to perform penetration testing. By following security best practices, utilizing an Azure Web Application Firewall (WAF), and storing API secrets in Azure Key Vault, BIG & Emergent passed all security requirements with flying colors.
Service Now, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Salesforce Implementation
Emergent Networks (EN) was outgrowing ConnectWise, a line of business application for small to mid-sized IT managed services companies. Making the strategic decision to go with best-of-breed software in each major area of need: IT service management (ITSM), accounting and CRM, EN chose to integrate Service Now, Microsoft Dynamics GP and Salesforce.
With help from its sister company (us 😊) EN was able to migrate data from ConnectWise and successfully complete the complex integration from IT tickets and projects to invoices, quotes and sales opportunities.
Online Loan Application with Fiserv & LendingTree
The user experience of the online loan application included with Fiserv Velocity, a line-of-business application for credit unions, left much to be desired and no customization options. To match the user friendliness of the rest of their customer-facing website, Consumer’s Credit Union partnered with Emergent Software to design & develop an easy-to-use, multi-step custom online loan application utilizing the API capabilities of the Velocity SDK so that loan requests continued to flow into their back-end system in real time.
The custom system was further enhanced by the Emergent Software team with integration to LendingTree to bring in new prospective loan applicants. After multiple successful phases of development, Consumer Credit Union signed on to Emergent’ s application support services to take full advantage of our capabilities to monitor and actively the system 24/7.
